At My Pest Control we use an integrated approach to pest management (IPM).
IPM is a broad approach to pest management that focuses on pest populations rather than individual pests as well as addressing the reason that the problem exists.
Each pest situation is unique and has its own solution.
After a site inspection we determine the extent of the infestation, and the reasons behind the problem.
In conjunction with information provided by the client we then formulate a pest management plan.
We use a combination of pest management strategies which include sanitation, physical control/ exclusion and pesticides.
Visual Termite Inspection report in accordance with AS 3660.2-2000 is confined to reporting on the discovery, or non discovery, of infestation and/or damage caused by subterranean and dampwood termites present on the date of the Inspection.
It is a visual inspection only to those areas and sections of the property to which reasonable access can be gained.
Areas inspected include:
interior of the building
exterior of the building
roof space/void-provided access is available and safe.
subfloor
site within 50m of the main building.
The written report will identify:
High risk areas
Whether active termites were found
Whether a termite nest was found
Whether termite damage was found
Whether there is evidence of a previous termite treatment
There are more than 3000 species of ants in Australia.
Ants can be found almost anywhere including-kitchens, bathrooms, living areas, roof voids, lawns, gardens and retaining walls.
They eat almost anything consumed by humans including fats, oils, proteins and sugars.
An ant control program will include the application of liquid sprays, dusts, granular insecticides, baits and gels.
This will include the application of termidor to the exterior foundation walls of your house, creating a treated area of protection.
Termidor has been proven to be the most effective and fastest product for eliminating termite populations in and around homes.
This same nonrepellent, undetectable technology has also proven highly effective in controlling many species of nuisance ants and other household pests.
Only six of over 4000 species of Cockroaches are serious pests to homeowners in Australia.
They usually reside in dark, humid places and are mostly nocturnal. They will eat just about anything including any human food or drink, pet food, dead animals and plant matter including animal and paper products.
Due to their activities they may carry and transmit diseases to humans. They are capable of contaminating foods and food handling areas with droppings, cast skins, egg sacs, faecal pellets and odours.
Treat habitat areas within property using a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide spray and/or gel containing an insect growth regulator which prevents nymphs developing into reproductive adults-breaking the breeding cycle.
Treat habitat areas within property using an insecticide dust
Treat external areas as required
All cupboards
Skirting boards
wall cavities
And any cracks and crevices where possible.
Dusting of roof void and dusting of external weep holes where applicable are also important, as this is where we tend to find they breed.
apply liquid spray to base of internal and external walls
There are over 70 species of fleas in Australia. They prefer warm and humid climates, so they typically become a serious pest in the summer months.
Fleas are usually found on cats and dogs and prefer locations where dust and debris accumulate-especially among soft furnishings, under loose cushions, carpets, dusty floors, sandy sub floors and even grassy areas.
When a flea infestation occurs in a domestic residence, the bites are usually observed on the ankles and lower parts of the legs as small red spots, which is due to the injection of flea saliva at the time of biting to prevent the blood coagulating and can cause severe irritation.
Internally-treat flea harbourages including carpets, particularly the areas where pets rest or sleep with a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide spray containing an insect growth regulator. You get immediate knockdown of live adults as well as stopping future generations reaching sexual maturity-therefore breaking the breeding cycle.
Externally-treat all external areas such as subfloors, gardens, lawns, verandahs, window frames, eaves, patios, garages, pet areas etc with a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide spray containing an insect growth regulator.
A follow up treatment may be required depending on the level of flea infestation.
They cause damage to furniture and timber in the home
They trigger electrical fires by gnawing on cables and wires.
They transfer disease by contaminating food, food preparation areas and utensils through contact with their fur, urine and droppings.
They are prolific breeders with a brief life cycle. A House Mouse reaches sexual maturity one month after birth and averages 11 litters per year. The number of young ranges from 4 to 12 per litter.
Did you know?
That mice can fit through a 6mm opening or the diameter of a little finger.
Rats can fit through a 13mm opening, or the diameter of a thumb.
A Norway rat can gnaw through a lead pipe.
Rats are creatures of habit whereas mice are more adventurous.
Their sense of smell and taste are so highly developed they can detect minute quantities of chemicals in foodstuffs, and this can lead to 'bait shyness'.
Silverfish cause damage in homes by eating foods and other materials that are high in protein, sugar or starch. They will almost anything, such as, dried beef, flour, starch, paper, gum, glue, cotton, linen, rayon, silk, sugar, molds, breakfast cereals, wall paper paste, books and papers.
Unpopular as they are, few spiders are actually harmful to humans, generally with fangs too weak or small to puncture our skin. The majority are guilty only of annoying us with their habit of building webs across doorways etc and scaring us when we least expect it!
treatment of external surfaces of buildings to cracks and small openings by application of a liquid spray to harbourage areas will provide a respite for 3 months or so. In areas where there are numerous trees 2 treatments should be considered during the summer months.
apply liquid spray base of internal and external walls
apply liquid spray to eaves
dust roof void, weep holes, cracks and crevices
liquid spray of accessible areas, around windows and door frames and other areas identified upon inspection or advice by the client.
